On Tuesday evening, the Mercer Area School District received two threats through the Safe2Say Anonymous Reporting System, both referring to a student created “hit list” at the Middle-High School. The first threat came in just after 6:00 p.m. The district then notified law enforcement of the threats for further investigation.
Safety is the district’s main priority, and, out of an abundance of caution, the Mercer Area School District will be CANCELING all classes and extracurricular activities on Wednesday February 1, 2023 to allow law enforcement and the school district time to investigate the reported threats. This day of instruction will be rescheduled for a date to be determined later in the school year.
